Care Instructions
By Mike Moyer
We believe that knowing how to care properly for your name jewelry and
name necklace
will make all the difference in maintaining the finest luster.
Therefore My Name Necklace recommends that you read the basic jewelry care instructions.
Basic Home Care Instructions:
There are some things that can be avoided to ensure many years of enjoyment from your name necklaces and name jewelry. For example, avoid interaction with chemicals. Some everyday chemical combinations can be harsh on gold and silver. Cleaning products can affect the surface of the bracelets,
necklaces (
name necklace
, crystal necklace, acrylic necklace, Swarovski necklace etc.)
and name earrings, robbing them of their natural sheen.
Due to these chemical reactions, it is always a good idea to remove your name necklace and jewelry when taking a shower, cleaning, applying makeup, lotions, hairspray, or perfume.
Additionally, chlorine may affect the color of your gold name jewelry and we therefore recommend removing all gold jewelry before entering a pool and/or hot tub. Lastly
make sure you remove your name jewelry when changing clothes or sleeping,
as it may cling to fabric, break or rip.
Gold & Silver Name Necklace and Jewelry Cleaning:
Because good silver will eventually tarnish, the more care you take "now", the more cleaning time you will save later on. We recommend that you remove fingerprints and light tarnish with a silver cleaning cloth regularly. To remove fingerprints, oils or dirt, add a small amount of mild liquid soap to a half cup of warm water, soak for 2-3 minutes, rinse thoroughly with clean water and dry completely.
When the silver tarnishes, it is important to clean it with a silver polisher. It is generally best to stay with well-known silver care product manufacturers, as some inferior products may cause
scratching. Some examples are Twinkle Silver Cream (very gentle), Wright's Silver Cream (slightly more abrasive), and creams and pastes by the Hagerty Company. These products are readily available in supermarkets, jewelry stores, silver dealers as well as on the internet.
